Mezzanine Financing Deal

VANDENBULKE was instructed by the debt sections of a german Asset & Wealth Management company, one of the world’s leading asset managers, with under 719 billion of asset under management, to assist them in relation to the acquisition of a French from a bank of a mezzanine loan.

The acquisition from the bank of the Mezzanine loan formed part of a global re-financing of an existing senior loan of EUR 202,000.000.- previously granted by an other international bank to refinance the acquisition and development costs of the Defense Plaza building, a 14-story office building located in the heart of La Defense, financial center of Paris, which was completed in 2005 and was awarded “Best New Building of the Year” in 2004.

The total amount of the re-financing loan consisting of the senior loan granted by the French Bank and the Mezzanine loan agreement granted by the company  reached a global amount of EUR 205,000,000.-.

VANDENBULKE was selected for his renown expertise and knowledge in finance to tackle these types of complex transactions involving the European biggest players in the debt markets. VANDENBULKE’s role consisted in providing the required assistance to the client in relation to the tax structure of the deal and the robust mezzanine loan and the related security package negotiations to be expected for these types of mezzanine financing.
