Overview
Marcel is a partner at Vandenbulke and heads the firm’s investment funds practice. His work consists in advising institutional clients, family offices and fund managers or advisors on the structuring and establishment of Luxembourg regulated and unregulated investment funds in a variety of asset classes such as debt, private equity, venture capital, real estate or hedge. His work relates among others to vehicles such as RAIFs, partnerships (SCS / SCSp), SIFs, SICARs and UCITS, regularly including the conducting of approval processes with the CSSF. He also assists management companies and AIFMs with license extensions, any other regulatory issues or the establishment of such entity from the start until the receipt of their license from the Luxembourg regulator CSSF. In addition, he is regularly involved in investor due diligences for his clients, including assisting them with negotiating side letter provisions.
Experience
Marcel’s experience as a lawyer in the investment funds sector in Luxembourg started in 2005. Since then, he has been providing practical and in-depth legal and regulatory advice on the structuring and establishment of Luxembourg regulated and unregulated investment funds. Before joining Vandenbulke, Marcel gathered extensive experience in leading local and international law firms in Luxembourg.
Marcel is an active member of several working groups within the Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry (ALFI), and is also active in other professional organizations such as the Luxembourg Private Equity Association (LPEA).Education
