Luxembourg overhauls its legal publication regime for more efficiency

On 1 June 2016, Luxembourg implemented a new legal publication regime. It aims at simplifying the publication process for easier and faster access to the information.

The reform is based on the four following pillars:

  • a new central legal electronic platform called RESA replaces the Luxembourg Trade and Companies Registry;
  • legal notices will now be published automatically on RESA when filed;
  • publications will be available for consultation free of charge; and
  • costs for late filing of annual accounts will be increased to encourage companies to file their financial statements on time.
